We love our pilots! To celebrate all the hours and hard work they put in to both our medical and charter flights, we’re sitting them down for a question-and-answer session. For this Pilot Q&A, meet Christian Maravi!
CSI Aviation: Why did you choose to fly for CSI, and how long have you been with us?
Christian Maravi: CSI was one of my first jobs after I separated from the military and earned my pilot’s certificate. The fact that we are so veteran friendly was a big factor for me. Also, I’ve always been fascinated by the MEDEVAC industry, which is a big portion of the flying that we do out of ABQ. I got hired in August of 2017.
CSI: What’s your favorite story to tell about your flying experience?
CM: Flying above the clouds during a solar eclipse. It was one of the most surreal experiences.
CSI: What do you wish people knew about your job?
CM: What I love the most about this type of flying is how rewarding it is. Every single day is different, we never know where were going to go and the impact we may have on someone’s life when we get to help them get to better care.
CSI: What’s your favorite type of aircraft?
CM: Phenom 300.
CSI: Out of all of CSI’s airplanes, which is your favorite to fly?
CM: At CSI, my favorite plane is the King Air 200. N505AW
CSI: Any fun facts about yourself you want to share?
CM: My favorite movie is Talladega Nights. I’ve ran a marathon and done a triathlon. I am fascinated by space and I am following very closely the new rover that just landed on Mars.
